I designed this website so that friends and shipmates could find each other once again.
I was stationed aboard the USS Moctobi from 1977 to 1979 as a BM1.
I made BMC, and since BMCS Catron was onboard the Moctobi, the Squadron
asked if I would like to go to the USS Quapaw, because at that time
they had no Deck Dept.Officer.
I gladly elected to go and reported aboard.
I stayed onboard till 1983 and loved every minute of it.
From both ships I made a lot of friends and even some enemies.
If you have ever served aboard the USS Quapaw or the USS Moctobi this is your website.
I hope that you will find the information in this site interesting and useful.
More importantly, I hope that the site will help you to reconnect with some
old friends. The USS Quapaw had its reunion this year 2005, but as of to
date have never heard of an organization yet for the USS Moctobi,
maybe one day the crew will find each other.
